CG 21st August 2009 ~ The 8th Commandment

Dictionary defines stealing as taking something that belongs to others without their permission. It is a sin that the Bible heavily punishes in the Old Testament. You probably think that you are not stealing based on the definition above, but do you know that there are many other ways of stealing?

Also, why do people steal? And what should you, as a Christian do to avoid the temptation of stealing?

Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

What is adultery? How does the court define it? And why is it such a serious sin? Many of you may say you do not commit adultery, but did you know that even a glimpse of something that arouses you is a sin?

Exodus 20:13 says “You shall not murder”

We are not supposed to take away a person's life, it's obvious even by the human law. But what about committing suicide? mercy killing? and abortion?
Fine, you may not be doing any of the above, do you know that you can commit murder by holding grudge and anger towards someone in your heart?
