Badminton competition (25th April 2009)

Greetings in the name of the Lord !!! Sorry that I took so long to update this competition as I was busying with exams and Penang trip. Thousand apologies ^^
Thank God for His greatness that the entire competition was indeed a SUCCESS !!! There was disturbance from the guards and time were running out but everything ended smoothly and perfectly. There were 16 teams of mixed doubles gathered at Angkasa condo's badminton court around 9 o'clock in the morning to decide the best among the awesome^^~ A fun time to watch the game while waiting for their turns ~

The spirit of GEPC could really be seen here as some were vigorously winning the points, some were enthusiastically cheering for their friends and some were busying counting points and made sure the competition went on smoothly. Big thank you to our main organizer- Kah Choon !!!
After 3 hours of strenuous fight, I proudly present to you the winners !!!
CHAMPIONS: Christine & Kuang Chi
1st runner-up: Amabel & Philip

2nd Runner-up: Desmond & Ashlee

Congratulations to all the winners !!! Many talents were discovered through this competition so now you know we have a lot of 'Lee Chong Weis' and 'Wong Miew Choos' in our church. That's all for now, stay tuned for more fun and exciting events in the future ! Don't miss out !

CG02 Exploration to Bangsar

Hey Church! It's Cell Group Outing week!
On 27th April, CG02 had our outing to Bangsar and we had a great time together!
Some of our CG members went back to hometown, some having exams and some went to trips but those of us who went, definitely it was a fun nite all together!

We, Melissa, Wilfred, Dick, Ashley, Jing Xin, Eliana and our guest - Zi Xin, gathered at church about 7.15pm and started our journey to Bangsar. Thank God the traffic was amazingly smooth and we managed to reach there about 7.40pm. However getting a parking is a hard task at that area. Praise God we managed to get 2 for our Myvis (Melissa & Ashley's) and here we are...at Sri Nirvana Maju...check out the photos...

The yummy Banana leaf rice that we had...you should see the mountain of rice Zi Xin took...and of course the few heroes - Ashley, Wilfred and Zi Xin ate with their bare hands! And here's Jing Xin, our CG member from China, enjoying our local food...and he likes it!

Here are some other photos during our outing...with all the happy faces! :)

After the dinner, we adjourned to Baskin Robbins next door for another ice cream feast! It was indeed a great time out and fellowship together...though we miss others who were not with us greatly...

So church, dont forget to contact your Cell Group Leaders for your CG outing this week! Dont miss it!

Ensuring sucess in Cell Groups

Soul-winning is essential for a cell group.
There is the danger in CG becoming "inward looking" and existing only to feed themselves, no vision for multiplication.
- You should set goal. i.e. Bring a newcomer every 2 weeks.
- Pray specifically and persistently for the lost souls.

Home visitation.
1. Visitation to invite people who don't attend church service.
2. Visitation to formally welcome church visitors.
3. Visitation to explain the gospel or certain doctrine to newcomers.
4. Visitation to minister to the needs of church members.

It's better to do visitation in pairs as how Jesus sent His disciples out as you have:
- Greater boldness and courage especially for girls.
- More topics to talk about.
- Avoid unnecessary temptations and rumours.
- Gather more information about that newcomer.

Show me by Christian City Church

Day after day

I know You're talking to me

Your word speaks louder than this world

And when I pray

Your spirit overwhelms me

Reveals the things that I must know

Chorus:

Show me how to live

Teach me how to pray

Let all I think and say please You, Lord

Show me how to live

Teach me in Your ways

So I can walk with

You all my days

Bridge:

Your words speak louder than this

Your words speak louder than this

Your words speak louder than this world
